On-prem corporate messenger: why Enterprise needs its own server
A public messenger is fine for a pilot and risky as the only channel of a holding. Chats, files, and stand addresses leave your contour. For CIOs and CISOs this is not an employee-habit issue. It is perimeter, event logs, and access revocation on the day someone leaves.
A corporate messenger server uses a different model: chats live on the organization stand, and workplaces connect to it. That is how EKP Dialog works.
Server versus "another chat app"
A phone or browser client without its own server still depends on someone else's cloud. On-prem (or a trusted Russian cloud) means:
- rooms and history stay with the customer;
- sign-in matches corporate SSO instead of a separate account;
- an IAM block cuts portals and chats together;
- security sees a contour, not a pile of personal devices and shadow IT.
EKP Dialog is the server. The EKP Web browser and the EKP Lite mobile app connect to it. Three products, not three copies of one UI.
When the rollout pays off
- Foreign messengers are already banned, and there is no replacement. People still go around the policy. Your stand removes the conflict between policy and work.
- You need single sign-on. If chat lives outside IAM, an account can stay alive in conversations after offboarding.
- The same contour on PC and phone. One stand, two clients: a protected browser and a mobile app.
- Audit. Incident response needs a log on your side, not a ticket to a foreign operator.
Do not mix product roles
- EKP Dialog runs the messenger stand.
- EKP Web shows chats in the right browser pane after connecting to the stand, next to internal services.
- EKP Lite shows the same chats in the Dialog tab on a phone, plus services by clearance.
- Private Web issues SSO, people, and rights. Without it the messenger splits back into local accounts.
Start a pilot with the stand and two or three units, not with "ship a pretty client to everyone". A client without a server does not give sovereignty.
